OUR STORY...
-
2017 As any good modern day love story starts - we both “swiped right”!2017
-
2018 Tom moves in with Katie at her flat in Manchester city centre on a supposedly temporary basis whilst he renovates flat on Didsbury Road, Heaton Moor.2018
-
2019 Somewhat surprisingly, living together was not proving to be a disaster. Decide that living together should in fact be a permanent thing and make the grown-up move out of the city and into the Didsbury Road flat.2019
-
2020 Covid hits whilst living in a one bed flat with no garden – what a shitshow! However, 2020 massively improved by the adoption of Ellie Boo (the true love of Katie’s life) in October and the purchase of our first house together in November on Brackley Road, Heaton Chapel.2020
-
2021 - 2022 If Covid didn’t break us, a house renovation surely won’t…2021
-
2023 Finally, a proposal! Better late than never…2023
-
2025 Almost 8 years in and we’re tying the knot surrounded by our nearest and dearest. How lucky are we? We cannot wait to celebrate with you!2025
TRAVEL...
By car…
A word of caution: the venue is not beside Inchyra village but Glencarse village, on the north side of the A90. Satnavs may take you to the wrong estate entrance so when nearing the venue, please ensure you follow signs for Glencarse – the gates to the venue are opposite Linden Garden Centre.
WHAT.THREE.WORDS ADDRESS
If you are using the what.three.words app use the code below to be directed precisely to the car park gate at the Byre: navigate.giggles.garlic
By plane…
For those travelling from the South of England or further afield, flying may be the best option. Edinburgh Airport is the closest airport. The venue is approximately a 50-minute drive from the Edinburgh Airport, which offers numerous car hire options. Directions from the airport are as follows:
Leave the airport and follow signs to the Queensferry Bridge on the M90/A90. Stay on this road for around 30 miles, following signs for Dundee as you pass Perth on your left. You’re now about 4 miles from Inchyra estate. Follow the signs for Glencarse / St Madoes / Errol. At the top of the slip road bear left towards Glencarse, and after about 100 yards you will see our gates on the left, opposite Linden Garden Centre.
Alternatively, a connecting train could be taken from Edinburgh to Perth, the venue is only approximately a 10-minute drive from Perth.
By train…
Trains to Edinburgh run frequently from various train stations in the UK. Connecting trains from Edinburgh to Perth run approximately every 20 minutes and take approximately 1.5 hours. Perth is the closest city to the venue, being a 10-minute drive away.

Q+A's ...
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by 30th September 2024 if possible, so we can have an accurate headcount
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, sadly we cannot accommodate them on the wedding day (with the exception of infants under 12 months).
However, we recognise that some of you may be travelling up to Scotland with kids to make the trip into a holiday with family / friends. Kids (and wider family / friends holidaying with you) are therefore very welcome to attend the pre-wedding drinks and the party the day after the wedding. Please let us know if family / friends / kids will be joining us for the pre-wedding drinks and / or day after the wedding.
What will the weather be like?
It’s Scotland! Who bloody knows! Please pack for all seasons.
What is the attire?
Usual wedding get-up but we don’t care so long as you are comfortable and have packed your dancing shoes! We very much hope the weather is kind enough to us to allow us to get married outside in the venue’s walled garden. There is short walk from the Byre down to the walled garden, so we recommend that, in addition to your party shoes, ladies bring a pair of “sensible” shoes comfortable for a short walk and suitable for if the ground is a little wet. The venue will have an area in which you can change footwear. Please also bring a coat and an umbrella – we don’t want a little shower to ruin our outdoor wedding plans!
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please let us know in the RSVP.
Whom should I call with questions?
We’ll update the website closer to the time with who best to contact on the day but in the meantime any questions just let us know!
Is there a gift registry / Honeymoon Fund?
Please do not feel obliged to buy us a gift, all that we are expecting is you. HOWEVER, If you would like to give something, a contribution towards our honeymoon would be absolutely wonderful and so greatly appreciated.
